Ihsan Academy Summer Intensive 2017 Applications Are Closed

Eligibility

Undergraduate students, graduate students and young professionals between the ages of 18-28  are eligible to apply. The program is designed for students and professionals from any academic background, who are interested in developing a more deeply rooted Islamic perspective in their respective fields. Individuals from a wide range of academic and/or professional interests ranging from the social sciences to engineering are welcome. However, a demonstrated prior interest in social studies/community engagement and a basic level of Islamic knowledge are necessary for the successful completion of the preparatory readings and in-class assignments. All classes will be held in English.

Process

Applications must be submitted online and are due by May 1st, 2017, although students are urged to apply as soon as possible as decisions will be made on a rolling basis. Depending on the volume of applicants, a follow-up interview may be required.

Please follow the steps below to complete your application:

  1. Please fill out the the application form below.
  2. Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email . Please forward that confirmation email to ihsanacademy@ihu.edu.tr along with your CV. Please provide us with your CV sent from the same email address that you provide at the application form.
  3. Please also make sure that we receive a reference letter from a professor, Imam, or anyone who can talk about your work with the Muslim community. The referral email should be sent to ihsanacademy@ihu.edu.tr, and it should be titled “Ihsan Academy Reference Letter for [YOUR NAME]”.

Registration Cost and Financial Aid

We believe that the program should be affordable for  all students. With the support of Ibni Haldun University, we are providing free tuition, accommodation, food, and trips. We only expect you to pay 400$ for registration and logistics fee once you are accepted to the program, and to cover your own flight expenses. However, we do not want the registration fee or the flight expenses to prevent you from attending . We provide partial and full financial aid for the registration fee for the students who apply for scholarship and demonstrate their financial situation. If you need financial aid, please choose “Yes” at the financial aid question in the application form.

While we cannot guarantee covering any part of your travel expenses, we are working on sponsorships and we would like to hear from you if travel expenses would be a big concern for your enrollment to the program.
